Check out time is 11am

Home will be professionally cleaned/sanitized before and after each guest. Please bring any issues to our attention.
Cleaning refers to the interior of the house only. Guests are expected to pick up after themselves outdoors and leave the space as they found it. Additionally, this home is in the wilderness. For your own safety do not leave food/food waste outside or in your vehicle.

Heat
Each room is connected to its own Thermostat Control.

Trash
Trash bins are in the shed. We recommend leaving them in the shed. You must close up the shed, with bins inside, every night. Please let us know if you fill the bins and need them to be emptied mid-stay.

Fire Pit
For your use, we include a dozen pieces of wood with each rental. More wood can be purchased at Al-Mart. Fires must be supervised and are only allowed in the fire pit. Fires must be fully extinguished. There are buckets in the shed that can be used for this purpose.

Fireplace/Furnace
You are welcome to use the fireplace in the home. The fireplace uses only 1-2 logs at a time. The fireplace door MUST BE CLOSED AT ALL TIMES unless you are loading wood/starting the fire. Be sure to open the flue while burning logs. The fireplace will heat the home so you may want to turn down the thermostat.

Septic
The home is on a septic system and sources water from a well. There are signs in the home reminding guests what can and cannot go down the toilet/drains. If you are unfamiliar with septic systems, nothing besides toilet paper and human waste can go down the toilet. There is a bin in the bathroom for all other trash. All food/cooking waste needs to be wiped into the trash before plates are rinsed in the sink. Anything collected in the sink strainer should be thrown away.
Additionally, the septic tank is of limited capacity and wells can run dry. None of this has been an issue nor has it been something that my family has had to think about. If everyone in your party needs to take hour-long showers and/or you were planning to do 20 loads of laundry per day this may not be the house for you.

No Smoking
No smoking of any kind is allowed inside the home.
Please be aware of open windows if smoking outdoors and pick up any waste.

Pets
Pets need to be caged if left unattended at the house.
Pet waste needs to be picked up and disposed of.
Be aware that other animals may be present in the area.

Extras
There are various games the kitchen island. If used, please clean as needed and return as found.
There are also games, chairs, fishing equipment, etc in the shed. If used, please clean as needed and return as found.
Same goes for the toys in the bunk room, if used, please clean and return as found.
We have many extras in the house for young children, including but not limited to: high chair, pack n play, and foldable crib. If they are not out upon arrival, they may be located in the bunkbed room closet. Crib may be under the bed in the west facing upstairs bedroom. Please inform us if you are using these items so we can ensure they are clean for the next guest.
Crib can be folded down and moved to another room. If you need help folding or unfolding it, here is a video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwbNQmdGvbU
Grill
The valve on the propane tank will need to opened before use and closed prior to departure. If propane runs out there is an extra tank in the shed.

Treehouse
There is a treehouse on the property that is incomplete and off limits to all guests. It is wrapped in caution tape. It is up the mountain a ways and out of sight. We expect the tree house to be available to future guests starting next May.
